[ junsu hadn't expected a visitor in his room, especially not haru, which he hasn't spent much time with yet, but...

that's a really beautiful flower. and he hasn't been gifted one in a very long time. ]

Yes! [ haru responded, tilting it out for junsu to take. ] I was always taught you should never go anywhere without a gift for the person.

[ manners meant everything to pan and the fauns since the other group were known for their ahem not so good attributes. there were something like rivals to the fauns. ]

I wasn't sure what your favorite color is so I just gave you all of them!

[ junsu took the flower, bringing it to his face to look more closely, to smell it. ]

It's beautiful. Want to come in, gorgeous?

[ making others happy mattered far more to haru than the other faun attributes he could use. ]

You're welcome. [ come in. gorgeous. oh! ] I would like that but you should know you're the gorgeous one.

[ he shifted forward to move into the wall, brushing up against junsu in a very unnecessary way. ]

[ junsu notes the way haru brushes up against him, smiling to himself. ]

Really? You think I'm gorgeous?

[ he places the flower into a glass of water he had, deciding it would better serve for it than to drink for now. ]

Should've said something earlier, sweetie.

[ haru gave junsu a long look for a moment then took the time to gaze around the room. a person showed plenty with what they placed around them. ] Of course. Who wouldn't find you gorgeous is more of the question here!

What would have happened if I said something earlier? [ a playfulness seeped into his eyes. ]

[ junsu has a lot of books, and clothes, and notebooks and pens. that's mostly what he likes surrounding himself by. ]

Then I might have asked you over early.

[ junsu says before settling onto his bed, patting the space next to him for haru to join him. ]

[ curious eyes gazed around, noting a few of the books with a slow nod of his head. he enjoyed reading but clearly not as much as junsu appeared to. ]

I would have liked that but I'm here now!

[ picking up on the hint, he sat next to junsu with a happy smile on his face. ]

You sure have a lot of books. What do you enjoy most?

I do!

[ he looks proud. it's his collection, after all, and it was hard work acquiring. ]

I love fiction, all kinds, but mostly like scifi and fantasy stuff. I like stories with magic the most.

[ that's been in his life for so long now. his love of magic started there. ]

[ a love of books, how endearing and haru couldn't help but to smile and nod his head along in understanding. ]

I used to read a lot about mermaids because I always thought it would be so amazing to be tied to the water and to have a fin! [ probably silly but everyone had something they wanted to reach out for. ] The same with fairies, I always thought their wings were so pretty.

[ a frown filled his face for a moment. ] Much better than ears and a tail. [ both of which had been mocked by other species he encountered in the past. ]

Any certain kind of magic? There are so many kinds!

I think all of those things are pretty and wonderful. Fins, wings, ears and tails.

[ he grabs his pillow to hold onto it as he sits and they chat. he gestures. ]

You can borrow a book if you want, sugar.

[ he smiles, then scratches the back of his head. ]

Any kind. I grew up wanting magic to be real. Magical creatures, or magic like with wands, or anything like that.

[ a kind of doubt shined in his eyes for a moment but disappeared as quickly as it came. ] My ears and tail aren't as pretty as some.

[ he used to believe they were but thought otherwise nowadays. the rough travels changed a lot of his opinions, actually. ]

Oh, wow, thanks. [ a genuine smile filled his face. ]

How do you feel now knowing it is real? It can be a shock sometimes and not always a great one.

[ junsu tilted his head curiously. he didn't think it mattered that much, that someone might feel insecure about things like that. but it made sense. it's like humans being insecure about their noses or hands or bodies. of course this would happen to magical beings with extra appendages.

he likes that smile, though. ]

Ah, yeah... [ learning magic was real had been... it was difficult to say, really, since he'd gotten so carried away in his fantasy that he was magical, that if magic was real, then this feeling inside him that he was magical was true. that with time his powers would manifest. ] I can confidently say it changed my life.

Magic isn't always through wands and spells. [ haru responded wisely, the smile remaining on his face. ] Sometimes those things don't help at all and can cause more issues if you're not careful.

[ he fell silent for a moment, deciding back and forth with something. in the end, he decided to go for it and slowly removed his hat to reveal the ears there. the non-human ears, of course. they were a merger between what a deer and a goat had. they twitched slightly in the sudden air and he pinked up. ]

Not as nice as some other species. [ the tail, well, he never really revealed that one anymore. not after the last few reactions he received. ]
