Don't feel guilty. Dal should get to live out his life, too.
[ junsu thinks it isn't fair that bam gets to more than dal, even though he doesn't think bam should just disappear either. he wanted them to get an equal chance to live, but dal was kind of reluctant to hear any advice or options when he tried.
he figures he might just not understand just how tricky it is for them, maybe.
but he wants myung happy, and he wants bam and dal to find a balance that works for them. ]
Maybe if you ask for three days you can strike a deal and Bam gets three days. Equivalent exchange.
[ Dal might be a lot more open to such suggestions, nowadays. He's a lot more willing to live, these days, and not just let Bam do it. But it's important to Dal to know that Bam is okay with it, whatever they agree on. ]
Three days? Wow, I was going to ask for like, a day, a day and a half.
[ He gives Junsu a look. ]
And I don't want Dal to be gone for three days afterwards. That'd suck. [ He hums. ] Gotta think about it. [ With another look, Myung raises an eyebrow. ]
[ thats true. if he asks for a week with dal, he has to go a week without him, and that seems unlivable for junsu. he's sure it would be hard to live with for myung, too. ]
You'll figure it out. You're both crafty.
[ anyone who has survived this far is, really.
he smiles, looking down at his fingers. it makes his heart race to think about. and he wants to cover his face. and giggle. and he feels like a little girl. ]
[ Myung nods, before he settles closer to Junsu, draping a leg over his, getting himself comfy as Junsu makes that face, looking so happy. ]
God, you’re cute.
[ And he is, and Myung is so glad things are working out. He used to think Junsu was this mysterious guy, and it made him even hotter, but as he learned to know him better, it became obvious just how soft he is, how gentle, how much he yearns for this kind of love.
Myung sighs contently, pressing his nose against the curve of Junsu’s shoulder. ]
Dal said I live you, too. [ He doesn’t know why he doesn’t say that they both said it. ]
[ junsu laughs, delighted. he's not really surprised. just happy for them. he assumes it's a good thing, or this would've been the order of the day before myung's whining about not getting laid. ]
That's amazing. [ he slings an arm around myung's middle, tucking himself close against him. it feels pretty natural to do this, after all. they've been much closer before, and junsu's a touchy, affectionate person. ]
It's kind of huge, given he's not done much, right?
live? LIVE? gdi autocorrect that's why i shouldn't phone tag
[ Myung hides his face in Junsu's neck, feeling his cheeks heat up. ]
And he's so - measured. He thinks about things very carefully before he speaks, you know? So I knew he had thought about those words for a while before saying it, and I believed it instantly. It's not like it's been before.
[ Like when Dae said it for the first time and Myung just took it as Dae teasing him. Dae being Dae, cute and effusive and too much sometimes. But Dal wasn't the same. He looks up. ]
I said it back. [ Which is even more of a big deal, all things considered. For Myung, anyway. ]
[ he just has to say it, with the way myung is hiding against his neck. it's been easy, to go from what they were to this, because they were friends, too. not just sleeping together. junsu is relieved about that.
and even more relieved to hear myung is letting himself have this. it's good for him. junsu hopes letting someone love him will help him stay away from fights and hating himself and thinking about what dae did. ]
[ In a way, it's the same relationship, just - one element taken out from it. Maybe Myung wasn't worried from the beginning because he's gone through it before. With Minsu, with Sage, with Jiho. He's managed with them, and he's managing with Junsu. ]
Mm. Yeah, it felt like it. But it felt easy, too. I didn't hesitate, not like I have before.
[ He nudges Junsu. ]
Hey, now that you're survival expert and all, you should take me camping. I've never been, and the military doesn't count.
[ it's nice for that moment to be a nice one. junsu thinks sometimes about how his lie ruined it for him and kwang, how that first i love you became heartbreak. they're fine now, but he'll never get the first time they said that to each other back.
it's another reason he doesn't want to lie anymore. it ends up tainting things that should be wonderful in every way.
junsu wrinkles his nose, laughing and nudging myung right back. ]
Like I'm an expert for going once? I don't know anything about camping, baby, we'd just get lost out there.
[ He nods, because he does know. It's strange and scary, but it's also such a certainty, in his head and in his heart. He hums, pursing his lips, his tone amused. ]
Bite me? You're spending way too much time with wild animals.
[ Myung just sounds endlessly fond, though, curled close and soaking in the warmth of Junsu's body. ]
Hmmm, Minsu? Ten? Rook? Hell, Dash? Endless possibilities. [ Myung almost adds something, there, but he realizes before it's too late that it would be unnecessarily cruel for him to say that. So he bites his tongue, especially because he doesn't mean it, and it could genuinely upset Junsu. No need for that when they're comfortable, right now. He closes his eyes, snuggling in. ]
But you're my favorite to whine to about not getting dick, I'll admit.
[ Dal might as well start writing a book of questions, since he has about a thousand new ones every single day. Taking a few at a time to people seems the way to go, which is what he has in mind when he sets out from his and Bam's room in the direction of Junsu's.
Is he clutching a notebook? Maybe.
Does he drop it in surprise when he rounds the corner and sees Myung and Junsu? No, he does not. But he does look sheepish and that sheepish expression does sort of disappear behind the notebook as he raises it to his face. ] Oh- sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt...
[ He's already doing an about face in the direction he came from when he starts speaking. ]
[ special privilege, he was going to say, but then he hears a voice, and lifts his head to look over myung's shoulder to see dal disappear.
junsu's face falls, looking down at myung with immediate worry. he doesn't know if dal is going to be upset, he wouldn't blame him if he was, given their history, and how tangled up together they just were. but he doesn't want dal to worry about this, or be sad, and he definitely, absolutely does not want to ruin this for myung. ]
[ Myung, obviously, recognizes the voice instantly. He feels Junsu tense, too, and he's sitting up in a flash, worry written all over his face as he watches Dal start to leave the room. ]
Dal, baby, wait, come back! Hey, come back, it's okay, you're not - you're not interrupting at all.
[ He disentangles himself from Junsu, patting his arm gently, hopefully reassuringly, as he slides to sit towards the edge of the bed, to pull Dal to him if he turns back around. Otherwise, he'll have to chase after him. ]
[ Dal does stop when Myung speaks, but takes a second to turn around. By the time he does, he's lowered the notebook at least. He doesn't look upset, just maybe a touch embarrassed? ]
Oh, [ he says a second time. ] Okay. Still, I'm sorry if I startled you both... [ His lips are a little pursed and his brown drawn. ] I should have said I was coming first, Junsu.
[ He crosses his arms over the notebook that's now pressed to his chest, scooting back into the space and letting Myung draw him near. ]
[ It's just instinct, the way Myung wraps his arms around Dal, presses his face against his bicep. It's funny, how much Dal has nothing to worry about, actually. He's not even sure Dal is worried, he looks mainly slightly confused.
Which, well. That's understandable. Myung hopes he made himself very clear when he said he wanted to be exclusive, and he has been, but he could understand how witnessing this would be confusing. Maybe Dal thinks they have different definitions of exclusivity. ]
[ Dal nods, looking between the two of them. No, he's not upset. He is confused, but maybe not in the way Myung's thinking.
It's honestly a lot more basic than that. Because Dal barely has enough experience to understand the bounds of jealousy and he doesn't know why he'd be jealous of Junsu, actually. He knows Myung and Junsu are close, right? ]
Me? Oh, yes- I'm fine. [ He frees one hand to lay on Myung's arm. Tries to find his words. You'll have to pardon him, because it takes a minute. ] You didn't have to stop on my account or anything.
[ He doesn't even know why, but he wants to hide again. ] I was the one who interrupted.
You weren't — you weren't interrupting. We could've been talking about this at the kitchen table.
[ he wants that to be clear. dal really isn't looking upset, just kind of embarrassed, but still. this is all new for him. and it's kind of new for junsu, too, to be myung's friend like this and for myung to have someone special in his life and these new lines drawn in the sand.
he's nervous about messing something up good for myung. ]
If I didn't want anyone coming in the door would've been closed and locked, I promise.
I hadn't seen Jun in a little while. He's been all wrapped up in his boyfriends, and, well. I've been wrapped up in mine.
[ Myung smiles up at Dal, reassuring. It's all new for him, too, navigating these friendships with the fact that he has a boyfriend that is kind of in his right to be sort of upset at seeing him all wrapped up in someone else, even if it's not like that at all. ]
Did you come here to speak to Junsu? Do you need me to leave?
[ Dal nods, first at Junsu, then Myung. He's coming to an understanding. Slowly but surely. ] I was going to ask Junsu some things- but it can wait. It's not urgent or anything.
[ He at least wants to emphasize that. That he didn't intend to whirl in here in a tizzy or anything. His arm molds itself around Myung's shoulders, holding on a little. ]
I could come back later? [ He looks between the two of them again. ] I want you to have time together.
[ junsu shakes his head, running a hand through his hair. dal and myung are cute. he's glad he hasn't caused any friction. awkwardness is okay. that's something you can recover from.
it doesn't feel all that awkward either, just like dal might have felt he was intruding. ]
It's okay, don't worry about it. We live in the same house, I can come bug him another time. He hasn't seen the last of me.
[ Myung grunts, swatting at Junsu's foot, before he starts laughing. ]
Yeah, alright, I get when I'm being dismissed...
[ He stands up, keeping Dal in his arms as long as he can, still smiling. He leans in to give Dal a quick kiss, nothing else but chaste and brief, but something to very obviously make it clear he's not upset with Dal, or bothered about being made to leave. He brushes his fingers through Dal's hair before he disentangles himself from their embrace. ]
I'll see you later, okay? Both of you.
[ And then he's gone, letting them be. He's got some rehearsing to do anyway. ]
[ In meager defense of his actions, Dal's still a newbie to relationships. All sorts, not just romantic. So he's navigating uncharted waters in a lot of respects. He'll get there. Slowly but surely. Maybe a bit awkwardly.
He shoots Myung a somewhat apologetic look, returning the kiss with a sweet little burst of energy. He's glad to know he hasn't caused any upset and that's helped him relax a little.
Reluctant to let go, he does eventually draw back, shifting his notebook to one hand so he can wave to Myung. ] I'll see you later, Myung. [ He turns slowly to Junsu once Myung is gone, having looked at his back retreating as long as possible. ]
Thank you for letting me stop by. [ There's another apology on his lips, but he tries to bite it back. ]
I was going to wait and ask you ahead of time, but Myung wasn't in the room and I got restless... [ A baby. ]
